As we come into the Holidays my number one rule is to spend as much time with family as possible. Its definitely a juggling act while owning a growing and successful business. We will be taking some time off for Thanksgiving to spend the weekend with family. All emails will be returned on Monday following the Holiday. I advise you all to take some quality time from the hustle and bustle and sit down to relax (believe me ask anyone I know and they would laugh to hear me say this).
I am working diligently to get all of the weddings done in October and November finished before Christmas. I will be contacting you all shortly.

Cincinnati Wedding Photographer- Alison+Nick Engaged!!

Alison + Nick are such a cute couple. We were battling rain and storms before the shoot. For a while there it got a little sketchy! Luckily as we were standing downtown the clouds went right over the city and the evening turned into the most beautiful night to be outside!!!

I enjoyed spending the evening with the two of you and getting to know your story more! October can't come fast enough- I can't wait to photograph you two again!

where it all began.. the engagement on the bridge...

now let me tell you a story about having to get these shots.. there was a fashion show on the bridge that night so it was blocked off from each side.. LOVING Alison the way that I do now I risked my life climbing over the rails (and the river) to get around the gate because my butt wouldn't fit... that right there makes me wanna go work out right now lol

LIL ALISON fit right through.. must be nice haha.. but the great thing about it.. we had it all to ourselves! the scariest part was the man who got hit by a car and fell off the bridge that day was the only thing going through my head as I was tight rope walking on these beams :) okay it wasn't that bad...

i love the way she looks at him!

"The day the world was supposed to end...."

May 21st- 6:01pm Mike's dad comes out of the Fitton Center with the news that we were all going to live and the world wasn't ending.. Thats good news because at 6:30pm that evening the world of these two amazing individuals were joined and a new life was starting.. husband & wife.

I met Sally back in high school when I was working for a photography studio- we had a lot in common-cheerleading, work of course, shopping.. girl stuff ya know the whole works. Years passed and I hadn't seen or talked to Sally until I got a phone call one morning. Hi! Your studio information was given to me from a friend of my sister- you did Heather Roberts photos and they were awesome!! I'd like to chat with you about doing my wedding-so I got a little info and then I was like- Wait, is this Sally? (could totally tell by her cute little voice :) ) If you read their engagement session you will hear the story of when I left the initial meeting. I was driving down Spring Grove one day with a couple for their engagement shoot (who happen to be dear friends of mine) and in mid sentence I let out a very loud EEEK noise :) I noticed a photo on this billboard- who knew I could get so excited seeing a bunch of Brats (the hot dog version) so huge!!
Sarah and I had the opportunity to shoot for Queen City Sausage and do their promos for their website and cookbooks! It was really fun- especially to see Sarah who is a vegetarian handle all this meat! Ahhh its the little things in life that make me chuckle! HA!
Anyways, you can see these billboards all around town- on 75 South near Hopple Street, SpringGrove Ave and I have yet to find the other locations, but mark my words I will :)

Kristy + Kyle Oxford Wedding Day!!

Kristy and Kyle were a lot of fun! We had some issues with the weather but of course Mother Nature pulled through for us. It was getting really dark after we left Hamilton and we were on our way to Oxford. The moment we pulled into the park it was a downpour, but for 4 minutes only! We were able to get out and get almost all photos done before the rain started back up for about 5 mins and stopped again! This time for good!

We got a lot of the photos done beforehand but luckily we did the couple shots afterwards when the light was just absolutely stunning!

I knew I was going to have a blast with this group after our fun engagement session in the snow!

I brought along Sarah and Cassie to shoot with me!

The entire family made us feel like one of them- we weren't photographers, we were friends more like friends or guests and Erica and Mike were sooooo willing to do anything and every crazy little thing we threw at them! Do you know how hard it is to ask a bride to go lay in a field in her wedding dress.. anxiety attack!!! What did Erica say- SURE LETS GO!!!!! I'm going to go wear this once right?! I LOVE THAT ANSWER!

Mother Nature and I weren't getting along on the first day of wedding season and it sure made for some soggy situations when I was photographing this couple the next day.

Katlin and Chris live out in Brookville, Indiana on 8 acres of land.. ::mydream::

Lake Lyndsay... one of my favorite locations to photograph at... It's almost like your at a Destination Wedding because its so secluded and with it being set next to the large lake it makes for perfect backdrops for every shot.

Jill and Don were married on September 10th, 2010.

Wait until you see the show that the sunset and sky gave us toward the end of the evening.

I had the extreme honor of photographing my 2nd Military Ball- this however was the 174th Air Defense Artillery Brigade Ball.

It took place at the Hilton Easton in Columbus.

Donna Lennox, is the decorator and event planner for the event. Once again they were blown away by her vision and charity.

Jami and Aaron Wedding Day | Cincinnati Wedding Photographer

An amazing couple- these two have the biggest hearts of people I know!! I just found out that Aaron spent time almost every year in Haiti to help out with the children who are homeless and hungry. His dad created an organization to send money down there. Jami and some of her girlfriends spent time in Nicaragua doing the same thing! They are true humanitarians and make me proud to know them.

Aaron was so sweet he kept the honeymoon a secret from Jami until they arrived at the airport to leave. She knew they needed a passport and thats all that was said. I couldn't even get it out of him until I was leaving the reception!

I saw Jami a few days after she got back from......Dominican Republic! She said it was amazing even though it was only sunny 1 day!! She was sporting an amazing tan for only 1 day though!!

Had to have the Oscar's Bathroom photo!!!

Jami and Aaron didn't want to do a first look but they did want to speak with each other before walking down the aisle. I thought that this was adorable- after snapping a few shots, I left them be while they spoke to one another.

right before the ceremony Jami got the best surprise she could ever ask for... her sister was able to come.

Her sister was involved in a severe accident around Thanksgiving and has her in the hospital for special care. Two amazing nurses were so kind to have a salon come in and do her hair and makeup and bring her to the ceremony to spend time with her sister and new brother in law. There wasn't a dry eye in the hallway when she came in.

They started off with a reception at the church...

Then we headed over to Oscar's where the 2nd reception took place...

but first we did photos inside since it was pouring outside!!!

His brother had the greatest speech- makes me wish I had the capabilities to do a movie because it was like a 3 min song that he wrote out for them and rapped to them. Check our their faces- HILARIOUS!!

Jami went for the kill!!

but Aaron got her back right away!!

The pastor even was out doing the robot, I was sitting on the floor cracking up at this!!

Aaron is a closet break dancer- never in the times that I had met with them and did their engagement photos and everything did I know the moves this kid has... HOLY COW! He needs to be on So You Think You Can Dance because SON HE CAN!!!

I have known Ben for quite some time now- We went to the same Elementary School growing up. It had been a few years since we had seen each other until I met his lovely Bride-to-Be (at the time) at BridalRama last year. She was a sweetheart- I can see why Ben picked her :)

This is a date I'm looking forward to for sure- Erica took me and Mike to her grandmothers farm. This is a historical farm in Alexandria, Kentucky. I tell you, they don't build barns like these anymore thats for sure.

I'm a sucker for rock foundation barns- I think that they are just beautiful!

After the offroading experience of getting back to the barns and the house- here is what we came up with

You know how every family has the crazy uncle.. well both of Ericas were at the farm working on a barn and they were right behind me in all of these shots making fun of Mike- i'd say its initiation.

Great choice of location you two! Thanks for getting me out of the city- I have a special place in my heart for farms since both of my grandparents live on farms and my best memories are playing in barns and with all of our animals we had growing up!!!

Everyone always asks my favorite place to photograph- Ault Park has to be up there! Its a gorgeous location for an outdoor or tented wedding. We had a perfect day for a wedding, there were some dark clouds rolling in about the time the ceremony was going to start- we waited a few mins and sure enough as soon as Sheila started walking down the aisle the sun came out. It was magical.

I didn't get to meet Ramzi until the day of the wedding and Maria actually started out with the guys- I guess they gave her a hard time because well.. they should- she UNFORTUNATELY is a Michigan fan! These guys are Buckeyes all the way!!!

They even played Hang On Sloopy and screamed it at the top of their lungs to annoy her :)

Andrea, Mike and I braved the cold weather and hit the ice for some fun photos downtown.

They are getting married at the Belterra Casino in October so we decided to do some fun wintery shots!!

here they are getting warmed up on the ice... Mike pulled out a triple lutz later.. lol not really but he was a good ice skater!

Andrea hadn't been on ice skates since having a bad experience that left her with some injuries a while back so to see her with a huge smile and not a terrified look was refreshing :)

fountain square makes a perfect background for the rink!!

You guys were a blast!! Definitely looking forward to the wedding day!

Heather and Matt got married on December 18, 2010. It was definitely a wintery day with lots of snow on the ground but the weather was quite pleasant that day.

They started out at a small church in Bridgetown and then we headed out to Hollywood Casino for the reception. There were only around 80 guests at the wedding so it was quite intimate.

The ceremony was beautiful and we had a ton of fun photographing in the foyer of the Casino.

I'm in love with her dress and shoes- love the detailing!

Diane and Nick were married at Ault Park. We spent all day walking around the park getting great shots of the two of them. Their puppies are a huge part of their lives so I am so happy they had someone bring them to be photographed with them on their big day!

It was a scorcher that day but Diane and Nick didn't mind the heat one bit. The bridal party was a blast- and that ringbearer and flowergirl were soooo adorable!

You two were a lot of fun and I'm glad Maria and I were able to create these memories for you on your day!

to two are EXPECTING ANY DAY NOW...AHHH!!

July 24th 2010 was my busiest day of the year. I had my own wedding with Kim and Bill which you will see a post of.. Alisha was photographing my friends Morgan and Josh in Hawaii! WOW what a crazy day!

I started out with Robyn at Emilys sisters house getting ready-then I met them at their reception for about an hour or so at the end of the night, but it was all Greg and Robyn who did the honors during the day!

I was soooo excited to photograph these two with Robyn! I had another wedding scheduled for me that day but they ended up moving their wedding date and I jumped right in and photographed Lisa and Jake!

We had a blast at their engagement shoot, Robyn and I road-tripped it up to Columbus to some areas that they are all too familiar with. They both lived up there and went to school so we shot as some of their favorite places- a really cool bookstore and some neat old buildings around the area as well as this beautiful park!

I knew Lisa would be beautiful on her wedding day- she is so petite and tiny I wanna squeeze her!!

Both of their families were so kind to us- and we even had a future bride at her family there as a guest that we got to see!

It was a perfect day for a December wedding! Chilly but I'd have to say it was better than the engagement shoot- When I did Jen and Jayson's engagement photos downtown it was the HOTTEST day of the year! We had the best of both worlds at our shoot!
Jen was a vision- the definition of Bride. She had so many fun details that we were having a blast capturing.

The detailing on the dress was amazing!

Year in Review 2010- The Knot Best of Weddings 2011

Its absolutely crazy to think that another year has passed. 2010 was an incredible year for Dolce Vita.

We ended up with 42 weddings total.

I can't say thank you enough to Sarah, Robyn, Greg, Maria, Christy and Lindsey for helping out this year.

I look forward to next year with a few changes in mind. We have 40 booked already and will be participating in the Wendy's Bridal show Jan 15th and 16th.

We will also be at Bridal Rama again this year- Feb 26th and 27th.

This year has been a whirlwind of fun. Weddings were non-stop from April until November! We had some amazing brides with really fun locations. Got to shoot at a few new locations and get acquainted with new amazing vendors.

Traveling was key this year! We got to shoot weddings in Key West Florida as well as Maui, Hawaii. Spent some time in Vegas as well as Naples, Florida. Family vacation was over Christmas in Nashville where we got to see Garth Brooks and help raise money for the flood victims.

We also have sooo many funny stories- running out of gas, spilling coke all over each other, hitting heads and faces on privacy windows in the Limo, having large english bulldogs as your best friend sitting on you, my numerous bruises and almost falling during like every shoot. What a great year that we can look back and smile.

Starting 2011 we got the best news any of us could ask for. We were a 2011 The Knot Best of Weddings Pick!!! Thank you so much to The Knot for a great year!!

I will be posting a photo from every wedding come the end of Jan- as a reflection back on all of the brides!!
